Simply put, if you have a disk that is capable of doing a 100 IOPS, it means that it is theoretically capable of issuing a 100 read and or write operations per second. I am currently getting 80k read IOPS and 20k write IOPS when I use CrystalDiskMark when a VMware VM sitting on the SSD array. The array is using 64kb stripe with write-back enabled. My VMware datastore is VMFS 6.81 using 512e sector size.
