WebMar 10, 2012 · It's not necessary to remove the main caps or line hone when you install a windage tray. Just remove the bolts, and leave the caps in place. Install the special bolts and bolt the tray on. I have one of the original Boss 302 windage trays that Ford sold as a kit with the special bolts. Others have slots. From what I have read, the seive type generally do a better job. But that is based on only a few articles.

Any thoughts about which of the three trays might work … WebJul 16, 2012 · I am a bit confused. I have a new boss 302 363 CID stroker 4 bolt main. The windage tray is a ford racing M-6687-A302. Ford says its for the 302 boss and it came with the bolts. I would think they would be the correct ones. You can see in the photo that the main bolt it just a touch thicker than the windage bolt that came with the kit.
